Overview

  • Peptoniphilus gorbachii is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. Peptoniphilus gorbachii is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Song2007)

  • This organism has been recovered from clinical sources. Can cause opportunistic infections, particularly in immunocompromised people. A possible gut commensal.
