Overview

  • Prevotella lascolaii is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccobacillus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. The DNA G+C content is 48.7%. Prevotella lascolaii is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut.

  • This organism has been recovered from a patient suffering from BV. Could be a possible pathogen in humans, but unknown at this stage. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 70% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). Minor coloniser.
