Overview

  • Pseudomonas lundensis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 59%. Pseudomonas lundensis is unlikely to be a gut coloniser. (Molin1986)

  • This organism has been recovered from meat, clinical specimens (sputum, tonsil - CCUG) and has been detected in human faeces (Bilen2018e). The risk classification (www.baua.de) for this organism is 1, i.e., low risk of infection and spread. Is a rare opportunistic pathogen. Likely to be transient and not a long-term gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Borderline cold mesophile, so likely not a gut coloniser.
