  • Selenomonas bovis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped - curved bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 62.5-63.9%. Selenomonas bovis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Zhang2009)



  • This organism has been recovered from yak rumen contents. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
