  • Shewanella carassii is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 52.7%. Shewanella carassii is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Fang2017)



  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Fang2017). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
