Overview

  • Streptococcus timonensis is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile, coccus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 38.6%. Streptococcus timonensis is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut. (Ricaboni2016g)

  • This organism has been recovered from stomach samples, France. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 16% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). Minor coloniser.
