Overview

  • Veillonella magna is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, microaerophilic, non-motile, coccus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. Veillonella magna is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Kraatz2008)

  • This organism has been recovered from a pig mucosal jejunum, Germany. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Putrescine is required for growth.
