Overview

  • Veillonella tobetsuensis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. Veillonella tobetsuensis is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut.

  • This organism has been recovered from human tongue biofilms. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 28% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). Minor coloniser.
