Overview

  • Yersinia aldovae, (aka Yersinia enterocolitica-Like Group X2), is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 48%. Yersinia aldovae is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Bercovier1984; Bottone2005Bergey)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (CCUG) and aquatic ecosystems. The risk classification (www.baua.de) for this organism is 1, i.e., low risk of infection and spread. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
