Overview

  • Yersinia massiliensis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, variably-motile, coccobacillus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. Yersinia massiliensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Merhej2008; Souza2011)

  • This organism has been recovered from water, milk, vegetatables and human faeces (CCUG). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
